Electrical Design and Circuit Diagram Development

Control technology is the nervous system of every special machine. Our electrical design team works closely with the mechanical design team — so cabling routes, component placement and unit control all fit together from the very start. Before the first conductor is clamped, a complete circuit diagram is in place, including terminal plan, layout drawing and cable list.

We dimension motor feeders, safety contactors, frequency converters, servo controllers and bus topologies to EN 60204-1. For safety-related functions (emergency stop, safety door, light curtain) we work to EN ISO 13849-1 with Performance Level verification — including a risk assessment for your machine.

  • Electrical design to EN 60204-1 (Electrical equipment of machines)
  • Safety engineering to EN ISO 13849-1 with PL verification
  • Circuit diagram, terminal plan, layout drawing, cable list
  • Component sizing: motors, frequency converters, servo drives, bus systems
  • Risk assessment for CE conformity

Control Technology in Detail

PLC, control cabinet, EMC and documentation — all from one house

PLC

Programming — Focus on Omron

We program all common PLC systems. The focus of our projects is Omron — proven in cycle machines, test stations and assembly cells. In addition, we cover Siemens (S7, TIA Portal), Beckhoff (TwinCAT), Rockwell and others — depending on your specification or existing plant landscape. Visualisation on HMI panels, remote access via VPN and OPC-UA connection to your control system are part of our standard scope.

CC

Control Cabinet Construction — Rittal as Standard

Our standard is Rittal enclosures — from compact built-in housings to cabinet rows for larger plants. On customer request, we also work with other manufacturers. Wiring to EN 61439-1 is carried out in our own electrical workshop: terminal strips, load break switches, frequency converters, safety relays, fieldbus couplers. All cabinets are function-tested and labelled before delivery.

EMC

In-House EMC Testing

We have our own EMC measurement equipment. Before delivery, we test your machine for emitted interference and immunity in accordance with the EMC Directive 2014/30/EU. This avoids unpleasant surprises during customer acceptance and shortens the path to CE conformity. If limit exceedances are reported, we resolve the causes directly in the control cabinet — without an external laboratory and without waiting time.

CE

CE Documentation to the Machinery Directive

We provide CE documentation in accordance with Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC as part of the project acceptance: risk assessment, circuit diagrams, operating manual, declaration of conformity. For machines with elevated requirements, we also prepare the technical documentation for certification bodies. The mechanical integration is carried out at our own facility.

Applications for Our Control Systems Engineering

Where our control technology and control cabinets work

A

Special Machines and Automation

Assembly cells, test stations, cycle machines, handling systems. We supply the complete control system for special machines from our own facility as well as for machines from other manufacturers, where we only take on the electrics.

B

Drive Technology and Conveyor Technology

Servo drives, frequency converter applications, conveyor belt controls, linear technology. We know the pitfalls of modern drive technology and match control and mechanics precisely to one another — including position control, synchronous operation and load distribution.

C

Process and Plant Engineering

Control cabinets for pressure vessel construction, temperature control systems, dosing and mixing plants. Temperature control, pressure and level monitoring, pump control — with complete documentation for Ex zones or food production.

D

Retrofit and Modernisation

Upgrading old plants with modern control systems: we replace obsolete systems with current PLC platforms, retain the mechanics and increase availability, cycle time and energy efficiency. We coordinate mechanical upgrades with our sister domain.

From Requirement to Finished Control Cabinet

Our Process in a Control Systems Engineering Project

1

Requirements Analysis and Specification Sheet

Which functions must the control system cover? Which interfaces to your control system exist? Which safety functions are required? In a workshop (on site or remote) we clarify the requirements and record them in a specification sheet. From this, the rough concept with a cost framework is developed.

2

Design, Manufacturing, Programming

In parallel with the electrical design, we order components, build the control cabinet and develop the PLC program. We coordinate visualisation, HMI screens and the operating concept with you iteratively. Before completion, a factory test including EMC measurement is carried out.

3

Commissioning and Service

We deliver the control cabinet to you, connect it, commission it and train your staff. We hand over the CE documentation at acceptance. On request, we offer remote support via VPN as well as service and maintenance contracts.
